We’re Set For By-Election - Oyo PDP

05.07.2008

POLITICAL functionaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, have stated that the zone was fully prepared for the by-elections scheduled to be conducted by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in the zone, just as it threw its weight behind the Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala-led administration in the state.

Rising from its monthly meeting which was presided over by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Hosea Ayoola Agboola, and attended by all the PDP elected local council chairmen, local government party chairmen, and members of the state and National Assemblies, they declared their unalloyed support for the administration of Governor Alao-Akala and called on him to bid for a second term.

Speaking with Saturday Tribune, the convener of the meeting, Mr. Agboola, stated the readiness of the zone to take part in the by- elections recently ordered by the Election Tribunals. “We are ready for the election, and as far as this zone is concerned, we will not waste our votes for the opposition, we are already mobilising our supporters and at the end of the day, we will come out atop.”
