Bayelsa State is targeting two places in
next year's CAF organised championship.
With Bayelsa United already assured of a place in the Confederation Cup having finished third in the 2007/08 league season, Ocean Boys are also on the verge of joining United in the same competition following the team's qualification for the final of the 2008 FA Cup.
Should Ocean Boys beat Gombe United in the final of the FA Cup billed for this weekend in Makurdi, the former league champions will make a return to the continent having represented Nigeria in the Champions League as league winner two seasons ago.
Globacom Premier League gathered that both the supportes of Ocean Boys and Bayelsa United have mapped out strategies to ensure that they hit Makurdi in large numbers to back the former league champions against Gombe United.
Meanwhile, Blessing Okardi, skipper of Ocean Boys said the team was prepared to win the FA Cup to stage a return to the continental scene.
The former Flying Eagles star who scored the all important equaliser that saved his team from losing the semi-final tie to Enyimba last Sunday in Owerri insisted that the win over the 2005 FA Cup winners has put the team at a vantage position to win the trophy.
